Iona National Park, Angola 3rd & 4th July

We drove through the southern edge of the Iona National Park in Angola to make tracks back to the Namibian border. We passed through some remote areas, with very slow progress across river beds and rocky passes and through Himba territory. A very weary group pushed through the border back into Namibia on the 4th and headed in various directions. Fascinating travels through Angola, but more on that later.
Now in Kasane updating some info, staying with the Hoys, and having the Dogcatcher go through some tests. We head to Zimbabwe tomorrow – Victoria Falls and Hwange National Park to see what is happening down there. Thanks to the hosts along the way through Namibia and the Caprivi. Cath is having a well deserved rest day.
Thanks for notes and comments. Very slow connection here so the responses will come when we are home….

Aaah Guys,
What an amazing adventure, knowing just when to employ local knowledge and when to take the risks yourself. What a beautiful specimin that python was – so much for no animals in Angola, or does that mean you’re nearer Botswana when that was taken? Cath, sounds like you’re not only holding up, but have become the backbone to – good on ye Sheila! Very proud.
Still miss you like crazy. Had a drink for you over the final of the world cup.
Love Swifty

Hi African Adventurers… Gosh what an unbelievable time you’re having, the scenery looks completely out of this world! You must have loved the snake Cath, although some of the routes you’ve managed to successfully navigate sound more frightening to me!
Missing you so very much my friend.
Can’t wait to have you home to hear all about your adventures.
Travel safely.
Lots and lots of love always..
Caro
